Dr. Vora is a board-certified Psychiatrist, licensed Medical Acupuncturist, Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine and Yoga Alliance 200-hour RYT certified yoga teacher. She received her B.A. in English from Yale University. She attended Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons for medical school. During medical school she did a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship in neuroscience and neuroimaging. She completed her internship in medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, and she completed her residency training in psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. She studied Medical Acupuncture at the Helms Medical Institute, based in Berkeley, California. She also did an auricular acupuncture training at Lincoln Hospital in Bronx, NY and German Auricular Acupuncture training at the Vital Principles Institute. She participated in the Integrative Medicine elective at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine with Andrew Weil, M.D., and she is now a diplomate of the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She has also studied Ayurveda, nutrition and meditation, and she is currently studying functional medicine, in order to take better care of her patients and address disease at the root of the problem. Dr. Vora has been practicing yoga for over 10 years, and she completed her yoga teacher training at the Radiantly Alive Yoga School in Bali, Indonesia.
